Contacts in iTunes

I have a Dell laptop with iTunes. Is there a way to type my contacts (phone numbers, addresses, email, etc...) into iTunes so I can just upload them to the contacts folder on my ipad 2?

Thank you. I have seen several people talking about syncing their contacts through iTunes, that's why I was wondering. I had all of my contacts in Palm desktop from my old palm pilot days and lost it all when my computer crashed, and now the palm doesn't work either. I don't use outlook or whatever, only email addresses are in my gmail account, no addresses or phone numbers or birthdays or anything like that. So I'm pretty much stuck entering everything into my ipad manually, which takes a lot of time. I type a lot faster than I can enter on the touchscreen, and I have yet to find an ipad keyboard that I like. Just trying to save some time and energy! I mean, you'd think there would be somewhere where everything from the ipad synced, like the palm pilot did.

Thanks. I don't use outlook, or interet explorer for that matter. Firefox and Chrome. Email I use gmail, and there is only email addresses in there, no other contact info. I would just think that when I sync my ipad that all the info should sync, like when I used to sync my palm pilot there was a place in the palm desktop for the calendar, contacts, photos, etc... It's just easier to type everything into the pc than to enter it into the ipad with the touchscreen. Trying to find a shortcut!
