Encryption of iWork-Docs saved via WebDAV

iWork documents optionally can be saved by using a WebDAV connection to a cloud provider.

As they may contain sensitive data my questions are:

(1) Are the iWork documents encrypted when they are in transit (transmitted via Internet) and at rest (on the cloud storage)?

(2) If so, what is the key used for encryption? Is it my Apple ID or what else?
