I bought a used G5 and did not have a keyboard. I bought the new Apple Aluminum USB keyboard. The function keys do not work as labelled. After searching the web and not finding a solution, does anyone know, how this issue can be fixed?

Not sure what OSX version had it, but...
Go to preferences, keyboard and then you can map it out to your heart's content. If you want to use the function keys as function keys without hitting the fn modifier you can do that in the Keyboard tab, first check box, very intuitive. Mapping takes place in the Keyboard Shortcuts tab.
