Hi, I have Iphone 3g, 8gb on ios 3.1.3 nai i want to update my Ios to 4.2.1.. i try many ways but iTunes always shows an error in last step.. i really need to update my phone to enjoy new apps and also my iphone i unlock but not jailbroken need help please

If you did not unlock it by having the carrier unlock it you hacked the phone. It may not technically be a "jailbreak" but it is essentially the same thing. And if you hacked the phone that is why it is failing to update. Also, it will no longer be unlocked after updating if you can get it to update.
There's probably nothing we can do to help in an Apple-hosted forum, but there are resources on the Internet that may be able to help.

You cannot get any help jailbreaking in an Apple hosted forum. You will have to learn how to search for what you need using a search engine. If you don't know how to do that you shouldn't have jailbroken your phone in the first place.
