If you're old enough to have a phone, you're old enough to choose its colour.

With the black iPhone 5 you won't notice the black bars on apps that haven't been updated for the iPhone 5's taller display. They might be annoying on a white iPhone.

This is so easy. I went in to buy black iPhone. All they had in stock was white.

I would go with white. If you use a case like Otter Box it won't matter as the case cover nearly all of the iPhone. In my situation I use a Lifeproof case which covers 100% of the iPhone so to me the iPhone is orange.

btw when you say you've waited 2 years do you mean friday is exactly 2 years? my carrier offered me the same upgrade that i was supposed to get after 2 years at 1 year 9 months.

of course no offense, opinions were given, mine is that white is more of a girls color, black a guys color. i'm happy i live in a world where people are free to choose and free to give their opinion.

Get white. I've heard the black have scratches on it once it comes out the box, well some. But if you're the type of person that loves to buy cases for your phone the best one would be white because the cases look a lot cutter with white phones than black.

go for WHITE! reason: i like the black color more, BUT the black iPhone 5's aluminium part is Painted black, and even the smallest scratch will look Very annoying (scratched area will become gray -> high contrast with black).

the White iphone 5's back is not painted , it has it's true aluminium color, like the macbook pro.

I have always liked the polished look of black and went with that when ordering my new iPhone 5. My two sisters also went with black and my niece and a few others have white. In the end, it's a personal decision that only the user can make. :-)

I'm thinking white.... Only because I live in South Texas and hopefully a white phone won't heat up in the sun as quickly as a black phone would???? Maybe???

Apple doesn't sell the iPhone 5 anymore. You could get a silver iPhone 5S or a white iPhone 5C. However, the amount of heat generated by the phone is the same regardless of the color. It's not going to make much, if any difference what color you buy.
