Ive updated my home computer and iPad to iTunes 11...
I just rented a bunch of movies on my computer and intended to move them to my iPad (as I have done before), but cannot find the features/function in the new iTunes interface. Please help urgently... I leave for the airport in 12 hours

The method is exactly the same as in previous versions of iTunes:

The only difference now is that by default the iPad will appear as a button at the upper-right of iTunes:
Click that all all should then work as per the directions. You can also go to the View menu and select "Show Sidebar" and iTunes 11 will then look substantially like earlier versions.

I'm having a similar problem with my iPhone 4S. I rented a movie yesterday (on my iPhone) for my plane flight. I watched most of it, but I'm home now and I want to watch the rest of it on my computer because it's a lot more comfortable than watching on the phone screen. I've read all the support documents, done a lot of google searches. The support document says to select the movie and "click move." But there is no "move" to click when the movie is selected in iTunes. If I right-click, I can rate the movie or get info on it, but that's it. I can't even play the movie in iTunes when the iPhone is selected. I have the latest version of both iTunes and iOS. Since I started playing yesterday, I have only a few hours left to finish watching the movie.
This is the first and probably the last time I'll rent something through iTunes. It's been a disappointing experience from beginning to end.
You cannot transfer a rented movie from an iPhone to a computer. That's stated quite clearly in the rental information and support documentation. You will need to finishing watching it on your iPhone (or connect the iPhone to your TV so you can see it on a larger screen).

No, it's not stated anywhere, not on Apple's site anyway, that you can transfer a rental from an iPhone (or other iOS device) to a computer. I believe you have misread.
