To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you’re running 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion). When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.
I am receiving messages that my start up disk is nearly full. When I look in the finder, there is a large block of storage for "others'but I am not sure what is contained there since I have only had the Mac 2 months and haven't loaded a lot of files.

Just to let you know the macbook 7,1 operating OSX 10.7 or above can run 16GB memory, OWC stock the memory.
