hello,when i highlight and the option to copy appears ( Ipad ) and how do i retrieved what i just copied,,,,,my Ipad also will not let me download an acrobat reader

You need to paste the selected text somewhere. Just tap a spot and a memu bar with Paste and some others should appear.
Here is Adobe Reader for iOS
Whatever you copy cannot be seen on the iPad until you paste it somewhere. The iPad clipboard is not visible and you cannot see its contents.
What is happening when you try to download Adobe Reader?
It copies onto the 'clipboard' just like any computer. You 'retrieve' it by pasting it somewhere, i.e. tap and hold and select Paste.
Need more info on your download problem.
the only option it gives is a tab that says copy,,,,,,,highlights in blue and has single tab reading copy,,,,by the way my cell does the same thing always lets you copy your *** of but the only option or tab it gives is COPY,,obviously im NOT comp savvy ,,,
it states my ipad 1 is not compatible

im not even sure that it is copying,ther is no confermation saying that

This is copied form the App Description page in iTunes. If you are running iOS 4.3 - you should be able to install Adobe Reader.
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
Go to Settings>General>About>Version to check what iOS version you are running.
When you tap and hold down on the text - and bring up the Copy Option - hold down on Copy until it turns blue. Then launch the notes app. Tap on the + sign to create a new note. Tap and hold down on the yellow note lined paper in the app until the Paste option pops up - then tap Paste. That will let you see if you did it correctly.
Its not visible normally, and can't be accesed until you tap somewhere it can be pasted into. Tap again in the textbox, or edit area and the Paste option should then appear.
The Paste option will only appear if you tap an area where the clipboard contents can be pasted.
For instance, if you open the notes App, and tap in a note you should get a Paste option if there is something to paste.
If you tap on an email you will only get the copy option as there's no way to paste onto a received email unless you Reply to it.

every thing went as planned except when im in the notes sec. tapping only brings up the same copy option ,,,ironically typing in this mess. board ,tapping then brings up paste option ,,,i don't understand why i can some places but not others
