The iPhone remembers the password. What is happening is that your router is not accepting the password. This causes the iPhone to think that the password it has is incorrect (for example, the password has been changed).

One thing to do is to make sure that your Local network has a unique name. If it has a default name like Netgear, Linksys, wireless, etc. youu should change it to something unique.

However, the issue that you are having could indicate that there is a problem with the firmware in your router. Check the manufacturer's support web pages for the latest firmware.

This should not happen. If it does usually the reason is that your network has the same name as another network your phone has detected since the last connection. The most common reason is that your router has its default network name (e.g., "linksys") rather than a unique name that whoever set it up chose.

Try resetting your router, unplug it wait for 1 - 2 minutes and plug it back in. Wait a few minutes for it to connect to your provider and download the latest IP addresses etc.

Go into your phone's wifi settings and forget your wifi network. Reconnect to it so that you get the latest IP addresses in your phone. Go into the settings on your phone for your network (Tap the blue arrow to open it up) Set the proxy setting to Automatic not off or manual.

Apple has done something wonky to wifi in iOS 6.0 and 6.0.1. Hopefully they will have it fixed in 6.1 when it comes out soon.

I had a similar problem and this process worked for me. Now when I walk into my house my iPhone and iPad both connect to my home wifi network with no problems.

try this settings - general - reset - reset network settings.

then go to wifi and put your password, then turn off wifi and see if yoiu still have to input it.

No settings. When you first enter the password for the wifi, the iphone will remember it the next time your in that wifi range.

If you traveled by a hotspot named "netgear" it would reset the passcode, even if you didn't actually connect to it.
