How to view ALL text messages on popup from same sender?

Let's say I send a text and it pops up on the screen. The slider is not used to open the phone. This text wasn't seen when it popped up. Then lets say 5 or 10 minutes later I send another one, which pops up. This one is noticed, but there is no indication I sent one previously! How is the person to know that a prior message was sent?

Now sometimes it does show a (2), like there's 2 messages, but not always.

Is there a way to make subsequent texts accumulate on the screen so she doesn't miss any previous ones? Some very important text messages have been missed because of this.

Thank you!

Cheonweb,

Thank you for your response. The problem is that the 2nd message is never "read" and the app is never opened. My wife will glance at the phone, see the 2nd message and think she's done. She never opens it to read it. She doesn't think there's any reason to because nothing is indicating there's another message underneath. See what I mean?

I'm trying to find out if there's a way for the phone to indicate that there's a second notification she never saw without sliding to open the phone - either in the stock messaging app, or perhaps a third party app.

Thank you!

Scott
