Since downloading google maps my battery life has royally sucked and yesterday it lost 20% in about 2hrs without me using the phone or the app.
iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1
Look in the Google Maps App privacy settings for "Location Data Collection", and try turning that to off.
Changing privacy info doesn't help nor should cause such an issue.
Great, since your an "expert" concerning this, you should have no problem figuring it out yourself.

Clearly you don't know what that 'privacy info' does or you would understand that it can definitely affect battery life. Listen to wjosten.
