Hey all,


Now that I've upgraded to iTunes 11 changes to my library wont sync across the two computers I use. I've been going through the painstaking process of retagging, organizing, consolidating albums that have been broken apart, etc. I chip away mostly while on my work computer and now and then while I'm at home. Now that I'm using iTunes 11, the changes do not sync. No edits I do on my work computer show up on my home laptop and vice versa. But all the changes sync to my phone correctly. I've updated Match on both computers. No avail. There's a non stop flow of glitches like this since day one with itunes match. Very frustrating.


Anyone else eperiencing this or have any ideas?

    I don't know if this will work but it has helped me a few times...


    Quit iTunes, then go to ~/Music/iTunes and delete the iTunes library.xml file. Launch iTunes and see if that helps. If it doesn't then delete the genius.itb file and update Genius, then update iTM.

    Hey Michael,


    Thanks for the idea. Neither worked. There are some items that I've changed perviously that are synced correctly and there are others that I know I changed on my work computer that arent syncing. Which obviously makes it more difficult to troubleshoot.

    I think I see where the problem may be occouring for you. If I'm reading your post correctly you are making edits to ID3 tags on music stored in the cloud that is not being propagated back to the computer with the music files that are stored on the internal HDD. Is that correct? If so, if it is anything like how the iOS devices work you won't see the ID3 tag changes unless you were to delete the tracks from the home computer's HDD, which I'm sure you don't want to do. I believe the only course of action would be for you to make the changes on the home computer and they will propagate out to all devices.

    I understand what youre saying there Michael. Thats not exactly what is happening to me. Let me give you a quick run down of what I've done. So I have my MBP at home which was basically my home base for all of my music. I logged in to iTunes match on my work computer. Great. My entire library and playlists show wondefully. I do a clean install of Lion on my MBP and leave my current iTunes off of my hard drive. Now both my home and work computers are showing all of my music in the cloud. My iPhone is in sync as well. Perfect. My initial intention was to figure a system that would work for me where I would keep my iTunes library on an external and run off of there. Was thinking storing it on a time capsule but havent got around to sorting all of that out.


    Started doing some substantial work within my iTunes. Organizing, gathering broken up albums. Artwork. Stuff like that. Spending a lot of time. Mind you, everything is in the coud at this point and I have no tangible library on a HD. Things are going great. I have some downtime at the office, I do so organizing, chganges sync across my home laptop and my phone. Absolutely ideal.


    So obviously I've continued purchasing music while at work, while at home. From other sites, not just iTunes. Shring with some friends etc. Without having set up a new HD system. Im actually OK with having all my music in the cloud at this point. When I do get to the point where I want my own library, I'll doownload everything. But heres where the issues started.


    Back to your point Michael, it makes sense to me although from my understanding, any changes you make to your iTunes match on any device should reflect everywhere else. Not just on your local drive. I fee like this was all going fine until i noticed changes I would make while at work would not reflect at home and vice versa. But alway reflect on my phone. Which is good I geuss. My phone is always correct. No matter where I make the edit to. But to contradict your point, I have albums that I've downloaded at home so the actual files are on my MBP that I have organized when I was at work, and are correct on my work computer. That same album is broken up on my home computer and it will not allow me to group the album together propery. All the tags are correct but its all broken out into tracks. No matter what I do, I cannot repair it. Now this album lives on my MBP harddrive and I'm only able to edit it through the cloud on my work computer. Does that make sense. I know I went on and on but none of it is making sense to me at all. UGH
