Why are Maps turn-by-turn directions skipping words?

My iPhone 5 often drops words out of the turn-by-turn navigation voice-over.

For instance, the screen reads "in 0.5 miles, turn right onto [whatever]" but the iOS Maps voice says "In half turn right onto [whatever]". It will also break off in the misslde of a word such as "turn r- onto [whatever]".

This is completely reproducable and makes no difference what roads I am on or turning onto. I have tried the following:

- Change the Siri voice from an American Woman to a British Man (this did not change the Maps voice, but I thought I'd try)

- Change from LTE to 4G (thought it might be bandwidth)

- Reset the iPhone 5 to 6.0.1 factory settings and restore from a backup

- Reset the iPhone 5 to 6.0.1 factory settings and just use my iCloud account for contacts, not restoring a backup

- Change from LTE to 4G (thought it might be bandwidth)

It is always the same set of words. It's like the language library is corrupted but I thought for sure restoring would resolve that.

I cannot find anyone else experiencing this issue - am I alone in this?

iPhone, iOS 6.0.1, iPhone 5
