That may work for the full list of contacts, but I want to print a list of certain contact GROUPS... like a Christmas Card List. Since Groups are not sync'd between my desktop Contacts and my iCloud Contacts, this is not possible as far as I can tell.
You used to be able to before Mountain Lion!
Apple is saying that you can go to iCloud and print head shots from there, but it STILL does not allow you to print several people in a group like you could before Mountain Lion! Very upset by this!
I tried to print my contacts using iCloud and you can only print very limited information. The iCloud print feature will not print any additional information like birthdyas, notes, URLs, etc.
While the iCloud printing may be OK if you want only name, address, phone and e-mail, it is a mediocre fix at best.
Being able to print all contacts (or groups of contacts) in alphabetical order is a basic requirement on any address/contact application; and Apple leaving out this capability is inexcusable.
Are you sure?
Be sure to sort all alphabetically first and then;
Select all required cards........File >Print >Show Details >Style >Lists
Yes -- that is how I expect it to work but the lists show up in the print detail window in random order and print in the same random order.
The Contacts application however show it to be in the correct sorted order, but when you print it the sort order is random.
You are absolutely right. I wonder what sets the order?
I suggest those who don't like the current setup submit feedback to Apple:

Have uou tried selecting the Pocket Address Book option?
Yes, the Pocket Address Book option/style does print in alphabetical order, but that style is not suitable for my needs. BTW, I did submit feedback to Apple.
Thanks
I agree with Eric Root... the best thing to do about this is to complain directly to APPLE. Send your feedback to: <http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html>
I just found a way to print contacts in ABC order. I signed in to my iCloud account online, then went to Contacts. I selected the contact group I wanted to print on the left page (example Xmas card list). On the right page at the bottom, I clicked on the gear symbol and clicked "select all", then clicked again on "print". When the print window appeared, I saved the file to PDF, just to see if the information was in ABC. It was!
it's not perfect but it's a start until they fix it. You can also print the entire contact list this way......
Thanks. That's interesting and it helps. You're right, the entire contact list does come out in alpha order that way. It's too bad that there are no ways to configure or customize the list when printing it, but it's certainly better than ANY print/pdf option in the desktop Contacts app.
Found a way to print the contacts using "AddressBook Printer" without the hassle of iCloud.
