Feb 12, 2014 12:55 AM in response to temperwolfby Readingr,Just got back from Vacation and Itunes upgraded - it was working and now iTunes cannot see the iPhone. The cable is the original cable that is plugged into the USB port it always used and so the only thing that changed is iTunes, and the phone has not been plugged in for just over two weeks.
Have Apple lost the plot and can no longer write software that works? What happen to regression testing to make sure everything works?

Feb 12, 2014 2:39 AM in response to temperwolfby Readingr,ITunes had failed to install the device driver for the iPhone on USB. Check in Device Manager for the Apple Mobile device in the USB area. if it is not there then you need to install it.
Follow this link for instructions. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
Apple Software quality is becomming a serious issue.

Feb 23, 2014 6:50 PM in response to Joff Dayby ganevsa,Hi there! So I'm having the same problems, however my cable is not the issue (when I plug the iphone in, there is a sound notification and my photos begin to import automatically), but my itunes will STILL not sync or even detect the phone! It's not detected in the sidebar or in the "view devices" section. The itunes software is up to date too...
Please please help
Thanks!

Mar 15, 2014 8:58 AM in response to Blackbear_blueskyby Michael Cawood,I've updated to IOS 7.1 on my iPhone. Still no change. This is becoming a problem as I can't even sync over wifi without at least first connecting with a cable. So I have an iPhone and an iPad both with official cables, latest software and I can't see them in iTunes.

Mar 15, 2014 2:33 PM in response to temperwolfby enefri7,Windows 8 users, if you still have issues I have just found out that the Driver Software for Portable devices, such as Apple iPhone in that case needs to be updated.
Check your Device Manager in Control Panel - it worked for me and I was battling with it for weeks...
