Mar 15, 2014 3:38 PM in response to enefri7by Michael Cawood,I'm a Windows 8 user, so that's very possible. I'm looking at the Driver on the "Apple iPhone" under Portable Devices in the Devise Manager and it says it has the most up to date driver already (MTP USB Devise - 5/1/2013). How exactly did you update beyond that? I tried the Update Driver button.

Mar 15, 2014 5:35 PM in response to Michael Cawoodby enefri7,I have just right click on the Apple iPhone and select properties... Then updated the driver... But my device manager was showing me it's not up to date so maybe it won't work for you in that case Michael. Sorry :(

Aug 4, 2014 4:43 AM in response to temperwolfby Niall Cannon,This fix has been tested in Windows 8.1 using iTunes 11.3.0.54
- Plug in your Apple Device via the USB port on your computer
- Open Device Manager
- Navigate to Portable Devices in the list of devices listed
- Right click on your Apple Device
- Select Update Driver Software
- Select Browse My Computer for Driver Software
- In this Window navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
- Once you have selected the Drivers folder ensure “Include Subfolders” is selected and click “Next”
- This should then solve your problem, the device should then reconnect to Windows and the Device should appear in iTunes.
