Tickets in iBooks fixed and uploaded ... Do they automatically know to review again?

I received 2 issues from apple about using iBooks in the text of the book and in the description ... So I fixed both and with iTunes Producer uploaded revised description and iBook ... Do they automatically know there are new files to review? Or do I have to communicate that to them somehow?

Thanks!
Bill

When a book get a ticket and the issue being the subject of that ticket are corrected and the book re-delivered, the "old ticket" shows in iTC until the corrections are reviewed.

If the reviewer accepts the book is now suitable, the book will go into the store. In iTC the ticket is removed and a green dot with your your book is 50 stores.

The ticket only "hangs around" until the corrections are reviewed. IF there are still issues, you will recieve another notification and the ticket remains in place until you make the corerctions notified and re-re-deliver!!

Also note that you are coming up to the Christmas break and you should have had a notice advising the dates of the various depertments are on vacation and no work will be done niether will iTC be updated.

Could you tell me how to upload the fixed text? A subheading to one of my chapters was untitled. I fixed that in my book, but now I don't know where/how to upload the revision. I tried to re-upload the book, but I think that is not the right way to do this. I don't understand much about this, so could you give me very basic information as how to upload the revised/corrected book? Thanks.

I dragged an icon of the revised book over to the icon of the book I had uploaded. I don't know if the revision uploaded or not. There was no message one way or another. There only was a message that appeared when my mouse was over the icon--the message was about the fact that I had responded to the ticket by asking for more information. I didn't see instructions anywhere and don't know if I've uploaded the revised manuscript. I don't know if the reviewers have it or not. I can't seem to send any additional messages to the ticket people. When I call the iBooks support people, they say they have nothing to do with this part of the process and there is no way to reach the folks by phone. So far, no one has responded to the three emails I've sent. I corrected the extremely minor problem (a chapter title left off) and now am waiting with no idea if the revised book arrived to the reviewers.

This is a terrible system. I've published eBooks with other companies and never have had such poor communication. It is frustrating and makes me re-think the other iBook projects I've had in mind.

First thing is to slow down and review tbe situation.

If your first book delivery resulted in a ticket being issued, you open your book and make the revisions advised by tbe ticket. Do not change any metadata, title etc. After that you re-deliver the book. See the link given in my previos post, read the content and follow the procedure.

Its really a stright forward process if you do not get annoyed with the fact that the review team have a great workload to get through so it takes time.

If you have in fact slready uploaded the revised book, keep checking your iTunesConnect ..Manage your Book section and if its OK, you will see. green dot and On 51 Stores. Or you could have another ticket...or it will state in review.

You just need to be patient anf follow procedures. I would suggest you don t have email replies because the answer may be showing in your iTunesConnect.

In iTunes Producer there is a menu item Window:Lookup Status... that can tell you if there are any upload issues. It can take 30 minutes or so. I've had issues here with some formating problems. Fxi and re-upload. Then in iTunes Connect, as mentioned above, you will see the new material listed as under review in about 24 hours. From there check reguarlarly for new tickets or acceptance. Sometimes I've had an email from the reviewers/system but that is unusual. Reviews can take 24 hours to 3 weeks or so. At least this has been my experience with 4-5 books and revisions over since the start.

I'm sorry to bother you again. I made the revision in my book which is stored on my desktop and I can't figure out how to upload it. I open up iTunesProducer, then I click on Open Package. That opens up to a listing of everything on my desktop. I have my iBook stored on my desktop. When I double click on the icon for my book, nothing happens. So, I don't know how to upload the revision.

I Googled "Uploading a iBook revision" but the only info I could find was on uploading a revision to an already published book.

I contacted the ticket people and they sent me an email telling me to upload the revision, but didn't tell me how.

I know this must be very simple. I am not a computer person. I do not know how to do this. Thanks.

Reading the previous posts, its looking like advice is being repeated and confusing you. The review team do not cater for giving advice to individuals, their job is dealing with reviews of our books.

OK lets go back to the beginning. First open a new folder, drag into this folder the .iba book file, the Ibooks file, the title image and the four screen shots, now include the .itmsp file.Rename the folder as the book title. Drag that folder into My Documents. Thats the housekeeping done and everything is in one place.

The revised book is not a version, because at this point, you do not have a published book.

Open the .itmsp file in your book folder and start the delivery process as you did originally. Input any information that was not retained, select the revised book in your new book folder, cover and screen shots etc through to the delivery screen and that should upload your book again.

I am assuming that you have been using the same .itmsp file and not creating a new one by publishing from iBA.

Remember, the files xxxxx.iba is your working file in the iBooks Author application. The file to upload is xxxxx.ibooks

Its advisable at this point to delete the ibooks file in your new work folder and Export a new version to that same folder. Now you know everything is new and OK.

Now you can start the delivery process...come back here and keep us advised of the results.

Tickets in iBooks fixed and uploaded ... Do they automatically know to review again?
