Why would a song purchased from iTunes be ineligible for iCloud?

ITunes Match won't accept purchases from another account, check the tune is from the same account as used by iTunes Match. I assume its not more than 200 MB.
It was purchased from the same account, 3 MB in size.
Have you tried removing it, then adding it back. Have you looked in Get Info for anything that looks unusual.
I can't remove it and add it back, because it has been "removed" from iCloud, so the only copy is on my computer. The Get Info does show, on the "removed" or "ineligible" songs that I purchased them with a different Apple ID. Perhaps that is the problem? I spoke to an Apple tech some time ago about merging the two IDs, but apparently this is not possible.
If get info says its from a different account, that is the reason it's intelligible.
But both accounts are me. Both e-mails are on file at Apple and same password for both.
You cannot combine Apple ID's or purchases from two separate accounts into one account. You have to use one account or the other one.
Purchase the song again with the account/ID that you are currently using.

I have this problem, but the songs in question were not added under a different account. In fact, I have three albums (2 purchased from iTunes, 1 from Amazon) for which all but one song are matched, no problem. How could one song be ineligible? Deleting and re-adding (not re-purchasing) has not worked, and I can't contact Apple support because they require a serial number. Any help??? thanks
