Mac Mini Mid 2010, thermal sensor question...

Hi,

So after having opened my Mini a couple of times already (out of warranty) I sadly have to announce that I have joined the "Oops I damaged the thermal sensor club". 😊

The DVD broke down, it was no longer accepting discs and I thought I would replace it with a second HDD bay. So I did and obviously forgot how fragile these thermal scukers are and snapped it in half. I know what I need to do but I'm having issues finding the optical thermal sensor 076-1370 at a reasonable price (including shipping). Does anyone know if any thermal sensor will work, e.g one of the HDD sensors for the mid 2010?

It's not a problem if the cable is too short. I can just re-solder it to fit but I'm unsure wheter it's the same thermal sensor for HDD's as it is for the optical sensor. They look the same to me.

What did you guys do with your thermal sensor issue? 🙂
