Edits to photos on iPhoto or Aperture do not sync back to flickr

I just started using flickr, and love the integration with iPhoto and Aperture. Unfortunately, on both programs, any edits or changes you make to a photo after being published do not sync back to flickr! This can't be how it is designed is it?

The pictures show up in iPhoto and Aperture as changed on flickr, but when you go to your actual album, the picture is there, but it's the older version.

Is this a problem with iPhoto/Aperture or flickr?
