Can not eject DVD

A DVD was inserted to rip music from it but it was rejected and was then unable to be removed from the DVD slot.

The system continuously try's to read the DVD and eject but the disk never makes it out of the drive.

I've tried the sleep/reboot/F12/hold down mouse on reboot all to no avail.

Any help is appreciated as currently the system is trying it's hardest to read the disk and then eject it and it's driving me nuts.
