IPAD2 works with Voice search - Not SIRI

Hi,

Totally confused here. Went to a genius bar in Brisbane (Chermside) where I was told by several people that the IPad 2 would support Siri. Just hold button down and latest software would kickin and Siri would appear. No such luck...

I then pulled up Google, which let's me do a voice search on the IPad. It would seem I do have the capability for voice recognition and conversion to text on the IPad. How do I turn on Siri? Or is there a hack through Google to get it work as they seem to have it working just fine on an IPad 2.

I have IPad model MC773X.

Siri is not available on the iPad 2. That does not mean it cannot recognize speech though. Google Search does, it's just not the same thing as Siri.

The iOS 6 Dictation app also does not work on the iPad 2, however, there is a similar app called Dragon Dictation that will work on the iPad 2. Get it at the iTunes store.

Hi Tom.

Dragon Dictation works perfectly on the IPad2, and it was free. Thanks so much. Between that and the Google voice recon on the Ipad2 you have sorted out my issues...

I appoint you: "Hero for the Day", now to get the pad to let me do this reply with voice..... any ideas for that?
