Can't download PDFs

Can't download PDFs

Sometimes I go to a PDF link and the PDF displays in the Safari browser window and nothing I can figure out allows me to download the PDF.

Then I launch FireFox to the same PDF link and I instantly get a pop up window asking me where to download the PDF.

I can't imagine Safari doesn't allow me to download PDFs.

What am I doing wrong? Or is this they way Safari (latest version) works?

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), 30" Display, 22" Cinema Display

Scroll the mouse around the central bottom screen; if the cursor is in the right place, a set of controls will appear, one of which will download the PDF. Alternatively, put the PDF's URL in the address bar and press the Option and Enter keys.
