I have just upgraded to iOS 6.0.2 and now my rear camera has an auto focus issue. Must be a bug as when the app launches the image is in focus then the auto focus kicks in a puts the image out of focus. It will only focus on something really close and won't change on further away objects. It was working fine two days ago on iOS 6.0.1 but not now on 6.0.2. Any ideas if there is a bug or does anyone else have this issue?

Try resetting your phone: Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.
Just rest it and no luck! It is also making noise in the ear piece speaker as is running the camera app. This is very strange.
Your phone is still under warranty. If you go to an Apple store, they will first restore your phone as a new device to see if that fixes things. So, you might as well do this yourself: First, restore from backup...if no change, then restore as new...if no change, go to an Apple store.
I'm experiencing exactly the same issues. It also cannot save the (blurry) photo at all, just freezes at the "capture" screen...
Same here! Got problems with the rear camera since updating to iOS 6.0.2. Glad to hear though that I'm not the only one. Tried a bunch of trouble shooting but its still not working. Hoping its just a bug.
I'm having the same problem! Photos taken are not saved and the camera hangs. Previous Photos, which I have on my iphone and which were in focus are now being dispalyed out of focus. Hope it can be solved soon...
I have the same problem too. I'm on my 5th Iphone 5 now because of various issues, hoping this is just a software issue..
Ok guys....it's bad news. It is a hardware fail. Software does not come into it.. You need to take it to an apple store to be replaced free of charge. Turns out there are quite a few people with this issue with the camera focus breaking....not that apple will admit this.
Any more details on why you think it is a hardware problem?
I spoke to apple support and they did the usual.....do a restore and a fresh backup.. I have done everything and I have an iPad mini that is on the same version of iOS . Also read the other forums on here and on other websites its got loads of people with the same issue and have all had their phone replaced by apple.
It doesn't make sense that its hardware since the autofocus was working perfectly prior to upgrading iOS 6.0.2
agreed Xtna.. The camera is bad now. Videos looks like crap there is all this slight motion blur now. uhg. Come on Apple, lets fix this!!
Although the OP had a specific issue not mentioned in the subject line, yes I've seen a camera problem updating an iPhone 5 to iOS 6.0.2:
Panorama no longer works correctly. Right after beginning the panorama, it automatically ends. So all it takes is a regular still image.
Thanks for posting this I am not always the best photographer and I though I was going crazy...
I really just had a ton of memories lost because of this but now I can get it fixed that will be awesome.
