Why dosent my computer recognize my ipod?

Everything was allright until my usb cable got damage, then i buy a new usb cable, y also remember i was deleting things in my computer so that i could have it a little bit faster, and after i connectec my ipod to my pc it came out a masage that said usb device not recognized, and i am really frustated because i have that ipod for a long time now and and i dont want to lose my music and videos of my ipod, please please can anyone help me, i am from puerto rico so anyone can answer me in spanish and english, please i dont now a lot about technology and i need help 😟
