Are you talking about the SD card reader Camera Connection Kit?

What happens when yo connect the dongle with a SD card into the iPad? Error message?

My camera Connection Kit works just fine with my iPad 2 running iOS 6.0.1.  It sees all properly names image files in the /DCIM/ folder on the SD card.

I also have a ZoomIT SD card adapter, and it also works with my iPad 2 running iOS 6.0.1.  The difference between this adapter and the Apple one is that the ZoomIT will also see ohter files and in any folder on the SD card.  I have even used my ZoomIT with the Apple Lightning to 30-pin adapter on my iPhone 5.

I determined it will only see files directly in the DCIM folder if the file is 8 characters long with no spaces. Fustrating because I have many files (1500) I am uploading to a parents IPAD. Using the windows file manager to rename in a batch results in a format with spaces and then the sequence number.

Seem awefully clunky for an apple product.
