Dec 20, 2012 4:16 PM in response to Decollationsby AppleMan1958,I suggest two things.
1) Trash your Preferences files.
2) Upgrade to 10.0.8

Dec 20, 2012 5:44 PM in response to AppleMan1958by Decollations ,I don't think 10.0.8 is out yet. I check for updates all the time on the apple store...and how do I trash preference files?

Dec 22, 2012 7:07 AM in response to AppleMan1958by Decollations ,Are you on 10.0.7 and having/had the same problem? or is it just me? Because I read on another discussion that everyone who updated to 10.0.7 is having this problem.

Dec 22, 2012 8:29 PM in response to Tom Wolskyby Decollations ,Just tried it...same thing still happens. I am forced to quit the program because it stops responding.

Jan 28, 2013 7:09 AM in response to Decollationsby RJBob,Did this ever get resolved? I am having the same kinds of problems. Have trashed preferences several times. Have completely removed FCPX and installed a fresh copy from the app store (twice!). I have to restart FCPX regularly to get it working again. Pretty frustrating. Also having other issues with flashing plugins, etc (another thread). Are we all just waiting for Apple to fix this?

Jan 28, 2013 7:20 AM in response to RJBobby Tom Wolsky,Absolutely no information here. When does it crash? What are you doing? What's your system, computer, drives? What's your media? I haven't crashed either .6 or .7.

Jan 28, 2013 10:22 AM in response to Tom Wolskyby RJBob,Hi Tom. I guess I wasn't really asking specifically for help on my issues. I should have stopped after my first sentence: "Did this ever get resolved?" What followed was more like whining and complaining. But since you replied, I'll try to get serious.
I have not discerned a pattern to the crashes. Sometimes when I copy with the intention of pasting attributes, I will notice that it doesn't work. Control clicking to move to the destination clip will not update the viewer or the Inspector. I usually restart at that point. Sometimes this will happen every couple attempts and I am restarting every few minutes. Other times it will work for an hour. The "unexpectedly quit" events seem random to me. It's always during some kind of timeline editing. I know that's not very helpful. Of course, Apple receives the crash reports but not the restarts when things stop working or I get the spinning beachball.
I always optimize media at import. Original media is either from a Panny GH2 (AVCHD) or GH3 (MOV).

Been hearing of a lot of render crashes with with 680MX, wonder if it's happening with this nVidia card as well. Seems to be an iMac problem.
