Hello---I was wondering: can I get optimum picture quality using a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter + HDMI cable connecting to a LCD or LED computer monitor? This would be through a MacBook Pro. I'm editing video, and want to be sure I'm getting great resolution, color, contrast, brightness. Thanks!

If you want to be able to judge picture quality , you'll need to send your image to a qualified converter from AJA/Blackmagic/Matrox to feed a calibrated display (eg Flanders Scientific)
Anything else is just a computer monitor display (not the same thing as video).

That'll basically extend it so that the TV is another computer display. Not really suited for monitoring video.

(I played with one for a while and it was great!)
Or the Blackmagic Ultrastudio Mini Monitor that does it for $150: http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/ultrastudio/
