my icloud is block

Wondering if any one can help. My wife initially set up my iPad and in the process set up her iCloud on my device too. A few weeks later before I could delete her iCloud and put mine on the iPad her email account was hacked and she decided to delete it. When time came to put my iCloud account on her device she had forgotten her password. Now the irritating thing is that know I constantly get a prompt to sign into her iCloud account when I try to use my iPhone and am stuck because I can not delete because we can't retrieve her password. If anyone has a clue please help. The prompts begin as soon as I put in my password to unlock the iPad and only stop when I go online to the apple password reset page. Really need help on this.
