Q: Conflict between me.com and iCloud

Ok, I apologise if this is a duplication of a post elsewhere (must be a Mayan problem) but I am having a deal of frustration with what I perceive as a conflict between mobile me and icloud.

Ever since upgrading to Mountain Lion and migrating my mobileme familypack mail accounts (4 in total) to the cloud I have two accounts where the server is listed as both xxx@me.com and xxx@icloud, to add to my frustration, some mails from these never seem to arrive at their destination or get bounced.  I am certain that I am not the only userexperiencing this so can anyone offer a solution?

PS: I'd like to get it solved before the 'End of the world' if at all possible

I did all that when we set it up, but I am puzzled as to why it only happens on two of my 4 accounts, thanks anyway.

I haven't experienced any problems with the aliases to icloud.com, but all the me.com (and I imagine mac.com) addresses were given an icloud.com alias. They should be interchangeable.

When you say they never arrive or get bounced, is that ones you send or ones sent to you?

I'm not sure how to describe the issue but on two out of my 4 @me.com accounts in the compose pane on mail, I also get a reference to icloud and I don't want this.

The other issue is related to mail that I am sending, over the past week or so around a dozen mails that I have sent from my main account (the one that shows both the @me and @icloud servers) haven't arrived at the recipient's address.

I can't tell you why the emails are not going through, but you have both .me and .icloud addresses, regardless if you want it or not. If you want to disable sending via icloud, log into the icloud website, Mail, Settings, Composing tab and disable sending via iCloud.

You said before that they bounced? You should have got a message that stated why they bounced. Any clues as to why in there?

My issue is two people with the same email account.

My email is @me.com but I sometimes get emails for someone of the same name @icloud.com. I am in Canada and he is in the UK.

You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is a couple of years old, less people are likely to look at it. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one.

Go to iCloud.com/Mail, click the gear at the bottom left, and select Preferences. Go to accounts and see what alias addresses are listed.
