Unable to connect iPad Mini to Wifi as of this morning

My ipad mini stopped connecting to Wi-fi just this morning. My regular iPad 3 and iPhone 5 and other devices are all able to connect. I downloaded the latest software update (6.0.2) and I am still unable to connect the ipad mini to wifi. It has been reset, restored, etc etc etc and still is not working. I've tried everything I could think of and find for the past few hours. The 6.0.2 update was supposed to fix it as per the description, but it did not. Note that everything was working fine until this morning and nothing changed - no app downloads, nothing with the wifi, etc.

My iPad Mini still will not connect to Wi-fi. Any suggestions?

iPad, iOS 6.0.2, ipad mini on iOS 6.0.1 then 6.0.2

WiFi Troublshooting

Is this happening with one particular network or with all? Make sure iOS is updated on the device.

Try this:

Reboot ipad by pressing and holding both the home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go. Then try to connect to network.

Go to settings, turn wifi off. Toggle airplane mode on/off. Make sure bluetooth is off. Turn on wif (airplane mode off). Try to connect.

Go to settings/genreral/reset/reset network settings. Then try to connect to network.

If its your home router, then reboot router by unplugging for 5-10min. (do this while you're resetting network settings).

If problem persists, then check for firmware updates on your router.(you check router manufacturer suppot website for downloads and instructions).

Some things to try first:

1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

• Launch Settings app

• Tap on Wi-Fi

• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Thanks, Tom. I appreciate you trying to help my issue. I tried all of these things before posting to the discussion board. I've had my ipad mini for a month now and use it for business and have never had any problems until I woke up this morning (still on 6.0.1). After trying many of the recommendations I found, I then downloaded 6.0.2 and retried efforts plus others. Nothing has worked thus far. It was working fine on 6.0.1 until this morning. I am now on 6.0.2 and it is still not working. (FYI: I have no issues with iPad 3 or iPhone 5 or MacBookPro with Retina or non-apple devices - only the ipad mini). It appears I'm not the only one with the ipad mini wifi connectivity issue. I have tried everything known to man since 5 am lol. Hopefully we can get some resolve soon. 😟

I have only one network my Ipad Mini will not connect to, unfortunately it is at work. Everywhere else, McDonalds, coffee shops and at home it connects just fine. I have followed the steps on many forums and reset, rebooted, everything as well as downloading 6.0.2 and it still will not connect. My Iphone 4 works on all the above networks INCLUDING my work network as did my old Ipad1 that I sold ! Frustrating but that is how it is .... Love the Ipad Mini otherwise.

Watching for a fix ...

Hi everyone -- wanted to provide an update in an effort to help others. NOTHING resolved my issue. I went into the apple store and even they could not figure it out. So, I ended up with a new ipad mini. Best bet is to go in to the apple store. I do believe some of the ipad minis may just have a defect. I've had no issues since with my new ipad mini.

Hi there. Nothing resolved my issues and after 4 days of trying everything, I took it to the apple store. None of them (3) could figure it out or resolve it, and after an hour or so, I ended up with a new ipad mini. I would suggest just going in to the store. It may just be a defect in some of them. I hope your issue gets resolved!!
