downgrade to lion 10.7.4

Hey everyone and Merry Christmas!!

I recently bought a second hand Mac Pro. It had Lion 10.7.4 installed, but I needed to upgrade the hard drive. In doing so, and being new to mac, I lost the recovery HD section (which at the time I didn't even know existed!) I then formatted the previous systems HD to use as an audio drive. My new install of Lion 10.7.4 is now having problems and DiskUtility is saying I need to use Recovery HD to fix it. From what I understand, I need to do a fresh instal of Lion in order for it to create a recovery HD partition and fix the problem. Since 10.7.4 isn't available on the App Store any more, is it possible to buy Lion 10.8 and then use a 10.7.4 'upgrade' to essentially downgrade my OS to 10.7.4? A lot of the music software I use runs best with 10.7.4....or so I'm told, hence the downgrade request. Any help to this newly converted Mac user would be grately appreciated....but please be aware I'm pretty new to Mac, so I might need some step by step instructions if things get a bit complicated! 😉

Many thanks!!

Tim

You can buy Lion, but it will be the latest 10.7.5. Get a redemption code for Lion from its online store's telesales agents: 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753) or Customer Service and Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775. The redemptions code comes via e-mail and need to DL from the Mac App Store (requires SL 10.6.6+).
