screen flickers

Hi -

My Macbook Pro from 2007 started to flicker the last week. It comes and goes but last night it wouldn't go away. Attached is a picture of the issue.

I restarted a couple of times and finally I was able to get to the home screen. It worked for a few minutes but the flicker started again and frozed my computer. What could be the issue? Please help!
