Dec 21, 2012 2:33 PM in response to dominic23by Skier Guy 12,I used a wet cloth the one provided with my MacBook Pro, the smudges are not under the screen but are left by the cloth or the wetness. I am unsure.

Dec 21, 2012 3:07 PM in response to CMCSKby sanjampet,If anyone cares, i use an eyeglass cleaner designed for glasses for coated glasses. Turn off the computer, sprat some cleaner on a micro fiber cloth, support the screen from behind to keep it from from moving and clean the screen.. do not put any pressure on the screen, wipe gently, and if necessary do it again. Be very gentle, and support the screen.nesscesary. Gentle is the key word here. Hope this helps.

Dec 21, 2012 3:37 PM in response to Skier Guy 12by OGELTHORPE,I purchased a few days ago an 'electronics' cleaner manufactured by Johnson under the Windex label plus a few microfiber cloths. I used a small cloth to apply the liquid and a large one to dry it off. So far so good.
It may very well be that it is just Windex repackaged and sold at 5 time the price, but I suspect not.
Ciao.

Dec 21, 2012 3:55 PM in response to Skier Guy 12by dominic23,Let the cloth provided by Apple dry and wipe the screen gently.
Smudges will go away.
There are products sold in Apple store, but they are not necessary.
Follow the instructions given in the Apple article that I posted the link to.
Best.

Dec 21, 2012 4:11 PM in response to Skier Guy 12by Eustace Mendis,If you don't wear glasses you do not about lens cleaners, but that's what I use. I NEVER spray on to a screen - laptop or monitor - but spray on to a soft lint free rag. Then I wipe the screen with the rag. Been doing this for 25+ years without a mishap.
Your local optician should have plenty bottles of lens cleaner. No idea what they cost, I get mine free.
