My iPad hasn't updated email in two days

I haven't received email on my iPad2 for two and a half days. The last email update was also two and a half days ago. I have "pulled down" the inbox side of the page, to update it manually, but it will not update. It reads "last update 12-20-2012". I have re-booted and re-started the iPad, and it will not update. Ive checked the mail settings, and they are all on. I also have a iPhone 4S. They both received mail, simultaneously, without problems, for the three months that I've had the phone. Can someone please help me?!?!?!?

Exactly the same thing has happened to me, but 1 day earlier. (19th Dec 2012)

iPad 3rd gen won't get e-mail from IMAP account, iPhone 4S works fine using the same settings, as does my MacBookPro.

I have delete the account twice, performed a hard reset etc, yet the iPad still cannot download new mail. It tries, and I see the scrolling bar, but nothing arrives, and I see the "check your mail settings" box. Other e-mail accounts (e.g. .mac) work fine.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks

After deleting my Yahoo account 3 times, and re-opening it, my problems are solved! I am absolutely convinced that the problem lies with Yahoo. This stinks! I have always used Yahoo. I receive some mail through G-mail, but now I will begin the transformation. I'm definitely changing all my mail to G-mail........Unless anyone has had "issues" with G-mail? I would love your feedback! This truly is a bummer :(

I have now deleted my e-mail account for the fourth time, and when I re-created it, it still pulled down all e-mail up to midday last Wed (19th Dec), but not any mail sent after that time.

The mail account is still live and working on all my other devices, and other e-mail accounts are working on my iPad.

Why would it suddenly stop working?

What happened at midday(GMT) on Wednesday that might have triggered this glitch?

Thanks

Because they use different protocols. Yahoo likely changed something in how their mail is handled on some of their servers. That something makes it incompatible with the Apple mail app. We all konw heck will freeze before a corporation admits they made a mistake, so whatever fixes there are seem to be quietly rolled out - which is why some people have the issue resolve while others don't. Unfortunately all users can do is wait until Yahoo fixes the server their mail is on.

Try to acess your mail via yahoo's app or safari (that'd be my personal choice, I wouldn't want to reward them with higher app usage numbers for a situation they created)
