Is there an app that you can add to your tool bar to disable/enable the Apple Remote?

I like to control my itunes library with my appletv remote on my macbook pro. I would just like a way to quickly enable/disable this function as when I use my appletv the remote ends up controlling my macbook pro when I don't want it to.

Is there an app to add this function to the tool bar?
