Q: Import a spreadsheet from windows computer

How do I import a spreadsheet from my Windows PC to Numbers on my iPad.  The new version of iTunes does show my data at the bottom of the apps window

iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iOS 6.0.2

Doh!   I hadn't clicked on the device button at the top of the screen first.  Problem finally solved..

    Use File Sharing....explained here.

    You may be able to email it to yourself on the iPad if the file is not too large and then use Open In when you download the spreadsheet in the Mail app.

    Seems cumbersome and I'm working on large spreadsheets.   Anyone know how I do this using the new release of iTunes as I used to?

    iTunes only changed in appearance but still works the same way. How did you import files before?

     

    File sharing is what you are saying is cumbersome?

     

    Are you using iCloud? If you are, log into your account in www.icloud.com, sign in, click on the iWorks tab at the top, click on Numbers at the top of the window, and then drag the file into the browser window.

    I was pretty confused too when looking for the File Sharing area of iTunes. I did find it though.

     

    Once you select the Apps tab you will see all of your apps listed in a top window. Scrolling down that just scrolls that window. But if you scroll the entire screen you will find a second File Sharing window below the Apps window. The File Sharing window will show nly those apps that support file sharing. Scroll down to Numbers and copy your spreadsheet there. Then sync.

     

    You should then find your spreadsheet in Numbers on your pad.

    Hi,

     

    I must be slow, but I can't see the File Sharing screen...   I've re-sized the window and paged-up and down, but only see the apps...   How so I scroll the entire screen?  Thanks, Paul
