Apple tv flashes 3 times and dos't respond

Your Apple TV may have become paired with another remote. Hold the remote close to and pointed at the Apple TV, hold down the menu and Rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see a broken chain icon on screen.

Instead of the pairing move I did the unpairing move.

Hold MENU and LEFT for 5 sec. - I did this while apple TV was not turned on.

It suddenly worked again after months...

Man I was just about to reset the whole frikin' thing....

Actually same happened 1 week ago. So I just plugged into the mac and restored the firmware.

The solution was as simple as:

Pointing to the atv2 press and keep "menu + left key"

Once the unchained icon appeared

Press and keep "menu + right key"

The chained remote will appear.

Deal done.

Great!!! I had an appointment with the Apple Store because of the same issue. I thought the Power Supply Box was shot. I opened the case to make sure nothing got disconnected. Everything looked fine. Researched online and found numerous answers but neither worked. I did tried one more time before giving up and go to my appointment and found this SOLUTION. Tried and it solved my problem. Thank you so much!!!
