DVD SP 4 and button function HELP

HI

I am working in DVDSP 4 and am having problems with trying to get my buttons to be invisible until they are highlighted or selected. I have added a .psd file as a button asset for my menu however I only want button to appear when selected not when menu is first seen. Now when my menu pops up all my buttons are visible and it is quite distracting to see all the buttons over the menu.

I can't seem to get buttons to disappear in the "normal" state. In fact even when I go to advanced tab and try and edit normal, selected and activated tabs by changing opactiy nothing happens, all I see is all my darn buttons!

Anyone know of a simple way to have no buttons when menu appears and have a button appear once selected with dvd remote, or mouse?
