Connecting MacBook Pro to Cinema Display

I am trying to connect my MacBook Pro (bought in 2009) to Apple Cinema Display (bought in around 2005-06).

I have used Mini display port to DVI adapter and also Firewire adapter but it doesn't work.

I used to use Cinema Display with Mac Mini, and now I am trying to use it with my MacBook Pro as an extended desktop.

Display is still working fine with Mac Mini but not with MacBook Pro.

Please help !!
