Looking for serial number of my iPod nano. It was STOLEN so current help is USELESS!!!

Police are asking me for the serial number of my iPod nano that was stole. I registered the product when I purchased it. Why is it so difficult (impossible) to find this number?

Easy. Use My Support Profile to find a list of serial numbers for items purchased or registered with your Apple ID.
