Q: Wobbly DC-In Connector

I recently bought a very abused 12" Aluminum Powerbook G4 M9690MLL/A with a 1.5 GHz G4, 1.25 GB RAM, and a Combo drive.

The charging adapter included is the Newertechnology 65 Watt.

The problem is that whenever the charging cable is slightly moved or turned, the power immediately disconnects. The DC-In port on the Powerbook is also very wobbly (able to move with finger).

I know according to iFixit (http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing+PowerBook+G4+Aluminum+12-Inch+1-1.5+GHz+D C-In+Board/554/1) that the DC-In board is connected via cable to the logic board, eliminating the possiblity of any components becoming unsoldered.

I was wondering what I could do to fix this issue? Is there any possible way to repair the DC-In board without buying a new one? The cheapest I've seen is on Ebay for $15; it's a lot of money for an extension cord, essentially.

Thanks.

PowerBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
