Not able to install the latest firmware 1.7 for the latest Mac Mini (2012)

Hi,

After receiving a notification through the App Store that the firmware for my Mac Mini (2012) was available, I attempted to install the update. However, after the machine restarted and the App Store reloaded, I am still shown that "1 update is available", and it is the same one.

I tried the same process several times over the period of a couple of days but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Install the update manually > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1616

Unfortunately, this did not work. After installing the PKG and then restarting the machine, I still see "1 update available" in the App Store.

Spent some time with tech support but no help. Finally figured it out myself. Go to utilities and do a disk verify then repair. I found an error that prevented me from installing the efi update. I then reinstalled the mac mini 1.7 efi firmware update and it worked like a charm. I tried to install 15 times and did a reinstall of Mountain lion and all the time it was disk verification error. Hope this helps!
