VPN from windows computer

I'm trying to setup a VPN using Mac OS mountain lion server. I have it working to another Mac, and to my ipad and iPhone, but when I connect a windows pc it does not work.

Several articles online talk about making a registry change to windows in order for it to connect over NAT routers, but that seems excessive... Does anyone know whàt settings will work without having to change the registry? Please tell me that I don't need to change the registry on each windows pc in order for me to be able to connect them to the VPN...
