Purchased an Iphone 3G S 18 months ago from O2. Use it on Pay as you go.
How do I unlock this phone to enable me to use another provider?

I believe there are sites offering a free unlock. Are these dangerous to use?
02 have offered to unlock my phone for £15. I feel this is an unjust charge as I bought the phone from them (paid full price) and at no time did they alert me to the fact it was locked to their network.
Would love to find a way round this as there is a princple involved.

They are hacking you iphone.
ONLY the carrier to which it is locked can legitimately unlock it. No one else at all. No one.
