garageband for osx 10.5?
Hi. I have an older computer with osx 10.5.8 on it. I had to reformat my hard drive recently and discovered that the Leapord disk did not include Garageband in it. How can I obtain an older copy of GB?
Thanks.
Michael

Hi. Thanks for the response. However, both online and in my experience I can't reinstall it with the original disks - at least not without reformating the computer. It originally came with osx 10.4 I since have upgraded to Leapard which did not include garageband on the install DVD. The original software install disks will not allow it to install with Leapard on it.
I was hoping to be able to buy a copy of ilife 08 but I am not having any luck looking online.

By installing it from the computer's original disks or an iLife 09 or earlier DVD.

i found Apple iLife '08 [OLD VERSION] for just over $32
Perform a custom install of it or use Pacifist to manually extract the GarageBand files.

Hi and thanks again. The custom install appears to require that the system also be installed thus creating the issue of wiping out the present system software.
What is Pacifist?
Michael
OK. Thanks again. But this looks like a program to extract a file from a downloaded bundle as opposed to getting it from an install CD? Michael
The Mac OS X installer media contain similar bundles. I don't have a Tiger Installer any more; insert the DVD and have a look, what you see in the Finder.
