Dec 23, 2012 4:02 PM in response to cavyladyraeby treenbadger,I thought I had lost mine too after transferring Itunes lnrary to a new laptop - everything else transferred seamlessy except audiobooks - no idea why. I then realised I had bought them through itunes store so I contacted Itunes support and had them all re sent to me . . . . I did this by accessing one of the audiobook receipt emails (or possibly through 'My Account' and in that there was a 'report a problem with this download' (or similar) link and I set it out there . . . within 24 hours I had all but one resent to download . . (one was no lnger available through ITues or similar).
Hope this helps . . .

Mar 10, 2014 8:51 AM in response to cavyladyraeby RavenTrading,Even though Apple iTunes has reached agreements with the Music and Film industries, they cannot offer Audiobooks over the Cloud.
So, when you buy an Audiobook, you must download it to your main machine and hold it there. If you upgrade your hardware (iPod, iPhone, or iPad) or IOS software, the audiobook on that device disappears and you will have to download it again from your main machine. This means wiring it up "old school" and not wifi.
As a consequence, it is advisable never to buy an audiobook from a portable device as it will not sync and will not be available for download elsewhere. I did this and I had to ask Apple to "push" a new file so that I could download it on my main machine.
Hope this helps.

Aug 17, 2015 5:33 AM in response to RavenTradingby Japjak,Well this seems very unsatisfactory since i wish to listen to my audiobooks on my ipad whilst travelling. Does your answer mean i am unable to retransfer my audiobooks onto my ipad? I would not have upgraded the operating system if i had been warned this was the case. I am sure it said my audiobooks would appear under ibooks when i checked the changes (i am not technically awesome but do look to see what it says it will change!) I had presumed in my innocence this would occur. I had playlists with my audiobooks in one place for series eg Lord of the rings. I cannot find them.

Aug 17, 2015 5:40 AM in response to Japjakby roaminggnome,What it means is that when you buy an audiobook, you pay for one download. It is your responsibility to keep up with it.
Like any other content, you should store it on your computer and you should always backup your computer. If, for some reason, you lose the book from your idevice you can sync it from your computer to your idevices.
