Syncing ipad, USB drawing too much power, unplugged USB, iMac shut down, now won't turn on

I was syncing my new iPad with my imac, when a message appeared sayin USB drawing too much power, I unplugged the USB and tried a different cable when suddenly my imac turned off! It will now not turn on and the light on the charger is flashing orange! Please help!?
