IPOD TOUCH stuck in recovery mode and cant restore

My ipod touch is stuck in recovery mode and wont restore when i turn on my ipod it says connect to itunes so i then connect to itunes it then notifies me that im in recovery mode and to get out i need to restore I go on to restore it extracts the software it starts restoring and about a quarter done it just stops it doesnt give me a error code it just stops someone please help me 😟
