Q: This does not work. Apple refused to repair my notebook though I applied for the the repair before 4-year period has expired. I am very frustrated with Apple and its quality and support.

4-year period expired on 12-th of December.

I have applied to an official Apple service on 4th of December with this problem with nvidia-8600 chip that was confirmed by the official Aplpe service.

I have a document that confirms the purchase date.

It was sent to Apple by the official service and they refused.

What we have is that Apple does not respond to obligations and all it declares can be considered as lie.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5), Nvidia-8600 chip predicted failure.

Is your repair confirmation actually dated before December 7, 2012? December 4? (It expired on the 7th, not the 12th.)

The one I mentioned is the secondary. The services sent second request after first was cancelled.

The first one is of 3th of December and test logs were attached to it. I think the service forget to attach purchace confirmation document first time and the second time when they sent the second request the time was over.

But these are technical nuances that I presume must be resolved in customer's favor if a company respects itself.

If you've anything with December 3rd on it, I would take the machine back to your local Apple Store or AASP, along with your documentation, and ask to speak to a manager. The KB notation is quite explicit about the December 7th date.

I believe that you can get this settled in your favor, provided you've the dated documentation.

    Good luck,

Please expand on the significance of the 4 years.  Is this how long Apple anticipate a MBPS to last?

A little update. I've called Apple Care and they issued a temporary repair allowance.

It seems Apple has common sense in resolution of complex cases. And all the mess is because of the AASP that f**ked up the time.
